Our commitment

All-Embracing

At 1A Wellness, we promote empowerment and healing for all our clients. We are committed to serving and celebrating the diverse identities within our community, fostering a culture of acceptance, respect, and belonging for all.

Through our affirming approach, we create a space where our clients from all backgrounds feel seen, heard, and valued, including those within the neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, and black, indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) communities. We make no assumptions about our clients, their histories or their identities; we listen to them. We consider ourselves advocates as well as therapists, supporting all our clients to achieve their goals and to heal, even within a broader social milieu that can be marginalizing or oppressive.

Neurodiversity-affirming

A practice built around your brain, not against it.

Our neurodiversity-affirming therapy prioritizes the lived experiences of neurodiverse individuals, acknowledging them as the experts of their own journeys. We celebrate neurodiversity as part of the rich tapestry of humankind, offering tailored support to help our clients achieve their goals despite what can often be an environment oriented around neurotypical people.

Our couples therapists Kristina Harter and Caterina Hill are both certified by AANE in couples therapy for neurodivergent partnerships.

Queer-affirming

Room to flourish in your authentic identity

In our LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, we create a positive, empowering environment for clients to flourish and achieve their goals in their own authentic identities. We also provide a space for clients to emotionally process the impact of growing up queer in what can be a heteronormative environment.

Couples therapists Taylor Haaf and Sarah Fernandez bring particular focus to LGBTQ+ relationships.

Listening to, and learning from, lived experience

We celebrate the richness and diversity within underrepresented groups as well as working to address the ongoing impact of racism and intergenerational trauma. Our practice prioritizes listening to and learning from the experiences of individuals, acknowledging their lived experiences as integral to their identities. We work with our clients to address the intersecting challenges and systemic barriers that may impact mental health and well-being, and we endeavor to make a safe, inclusive space where all clients can heal and flourish.

Couples therapist Caterina Hill works with intercultural and interracial couples.
