What we’re about

Understanding the pattern isn’t the end of the work.

Our approach blends psychodynamic theory with trauma-informed care, while keeping development and attachment central. We want our clients to not just understand their patterns, but actually make new choices for lasting change — and we use multiple modalities, from IFS and EFT to EMDR and CBT, to get there.

We’re committed to serving everyone in our community with respect and belonging, no matter who they are.

Who we’re looking for

Both heart and skill

Practitioners who:

  • Think psychodynamically, and get how the past shows up in the present
  • See trauma as something that lives in the body and in relationships, not just in memory
  • Know how to help people shift in the moment — both through insight and felt experience
  • Have experience with IFS, EFT, or EMDR
  • Love the intellectual side of this work but are committed to going beyond it
  • Want to stay somewhere long-term and really contribute

We also want applicants who are:

  • Clinicians who believe that conducting therapy is a radical privilege
  • People who are hungry to learn, who work hard and want to be rewarded for it
  • Clinicians who are uncompromising in the quality of their work
  • Clinicians who want to be valued as colleagues, and who wish to contribute their own value to the practice
What we offer

A practice built to be sustainable

Real sustainability. We’re self-pay by design, which means more creativity and presence with clients, and less paperwork and insurance headaches. We actually try to prevent burnout by tailoring schedules to where you are in life.

Good pay. Full-time starts at $125,000/yr with room to grow.

Community. We learn from each other constantly. Whether you’re newer or seasoned, there’s space for your voice here.

Pro bono work. 1A Wellness supports a limited number of need-based reduced-fee and pro bono services, and clinicians have the opportunity to take that work on once their practice here is established.

1A Wellness is guided by the principle that we best serve our clients when we also provide a healthy and sustainable work environment for our practitioners. A comfortable office environment is important, but so are the systems we have put in place to make clinicians feel supported in their work, and able to focus their efforts on client treatment.

We’re intentionally building something different from the traditional hierarchical mental health world. We want clinicians from all backgrounds and career stages who bring the depth and presence this work requires.
