Our mission

Good therapy can change the world.

At 1A Wellness, we are driven to provide exceptional therapy so that clients can transform their lives. Our clinicians understand how to heal pain and how to help clients move forward so that they can make enduring changes and live fuller lives.

We cannot change the past. But by investing in therapy, clients can reclaim their lives and change the future. This is our mission.

Our ethos

Pedigree is only part of it.

We cannot change the past. But by investing in therapy, clients can reclaim their lives and change the future.

That belief is the compass. It shapes everything about how 1A Wellness is run, and it is what we listen for when we decide who joins the practice.

Our clinicians trained at some of the best programs in the country, including UNC Chapel Hill, Harvard Medical School, Smith College and Boston College. But solid pedigree is only part of what matters. Good therapists are compassionate caregivers who are 100 percent committed to helping people in their suffering. Our clinicians are fully onboard. They understand pain. And they know how to help their clients move beyond it.

Our story

Why 1A Wellness was founded

In 2019, Dr. Kristina Harter opened 1A Wellness around a specific idea: that therapy done well — by people who are both exceptionally trained and genuinely human — produces change that ripples outward. Not just for the individual in the room, but for the relationships, families, and communities that person moves through.

Core Values

1A Wellness is guided by the principle that we best serve our clients when we also provide a healthy and sustainable work environment for our practitioners. A comfortable office environment is important, but so are the systems we have put in place to make clinicians feel supported in their work, and able to focus their efforts on client treatment.
